After finishing Walking Street last night I wanted to catch a baht bus back to the hotel. At 2 AM the Pattaya baht buses are basically done I only saw a few motorbikes and farang tuk-tuks on the road. Waited about 15 minutes, nobody came, so I grabbed a motorbike taxi back. Pricey but fast. Old-timer's tip: in the Walking Street and Nana Plaza direction there's sometimes a stray extra run when the crowd is big past midnight, but don't expect the regular daytime frequency. Flagging one down is even harder around blocks with lots of freelancers.

Personal tip: don't rely on luck if you want to save money. After 2 AM, ask the driver first whether he'll go a longer distance and negotiate the price upfront, or share a motorbike taxi with a couple of people. Also explain your hotel location clearly (alley near the 7-11, turn into Second Road, etc.) that cuts down the awkwardness of getting steered to a "shop" or being asked for a bar fine on the way back. Anyway, don't just stand there waiting for a bus, that's the rule. Less chance of falling into traps, lol.
