Just got back from spending a month in Pattaya. Thought it'd be all fun, but it was a mix of good and bad well.

Day one I walked from the beach to Walking Street the sea smell and the colorful spotlights are exciting, but stay a while and it all starts looking the same. Tons of gogo bars, beer bars filling the street, showcase girls and entertainer girls strolling around chill. During the day I went to a recommended soapy place that does one-on-one massage, the AC roaring loud nuru and special-service massages sometimes give good service, sometimes they pull a switcheroo on you, so you've got to ask carefully upfront. Lots of French and other Europeans around. Prices for foreigners and Thais are not the same. And short time vs bar fine vs long time differ the most.

By day three or four I started learning the layout. I trusted someone who knew the scene to take me to Soi 6 in the afternoon one soi walking from Beach Road. Foreigners love this place because freelancers are easy to find. Some of the bar girls are freelancers. Walk Beach Road around midnight and you'll see groups looking for full service. Some nights the happy ending wraps up nicely, some nights cash slips out and the change goes missing... Bottom line: if you're staying long-term, you have to balance partying with real life find places for breakfast and laundry, or you'll get bored fast. And watch out for oil-therapy massage vs erotic massage where the price changes depending on the customer. Sigh real experience, not making it up.
