Got back to the hotel, thought i’d jot this quick Chiang Mai lady bar scene felt like I’d landed in another country compared to Bangkok.
Started at Loi Kroh around 10pm, wandered up Nimman later and ended at the Night Bazaar; music was quieter, girls more chatty and the whole place smelled of incense not smoke and booze, proper chilled. Bar fines and lady drinks were fair, nowhere near the frantic pushy vibe of Sukhumvit tried a soapy-ish massage in Old City after midnight, the girl was friendly and the service was relaxed, not rushed, tho i got charged a surprise extra on the way out so watch the add-ons.
Tip: if u’re used to Bangkok’s fast lane, slow ur pace here ask about extras up front, tell the taxi the soi after the 7-Eleven, and don’t expect the same gogo spectacle; it’s more girlfriend-style, quieter and cheaper, which for a skint Londoner like me was decent enough...
