Thermae (Ruamchit Hotel)

Very nice front desk staff.
Room meets expectations considering the price.
Best thing is, I had to leave earlier and cut my stay at the hotel, they normally refunded me the deposit, and promised to refund the room rate to my account after two weeks. Which they really did, and this is a bit surprising because I heared that it is not rare to have the hotels ignoring your refund once you leave.
All in all, I recommend this hotel.

The hotel was well maintained, and the staff were supportive and professional. Early check-in before 2:00 PM was not permitted. The swimming pool was clean and well kept, and the rooftop offered an excellent view.

The good: Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, the filtered water available anytime was very nice, room was large and clean.

The bad: I didn’t realize when booking that the hotel basically serves as a brothel, where sex workers pick up customers outside or in the bar downstairs and then bring them up to the room. I have nothing against sex work but I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel if I’d known that. Also, the traffic noises from the street, at all hours of day or night, made sleep very difficult.

Good value for money. The location is excellent. Staff, from reception to housekeeping, are extremely friendly.

More suitable for short stays. The rooms are a bit small but equipped with everything you need.

The windows are neither soundproof nor insulated. As soon as you leave the room, the air conditioning turns off - which is a big downside for me.

All in all, still great.

Unfortunately - and this is not primarily the hotel's fault - there were some issues with certain guests, particularly from India. They would enter the pool without showering and even wearing clothes. I genuinely wonder why some cultures cannot follow basic rules, especially hygiene-related ones. Sadly, I've encountered this behaviour from Indian guests many times before, and it is simply unacceptable.

This hotel is very centrally located on Sukhumvit Rd. Quick access to everything. Terminal 21 is walking distance. MBK is a long walk or easy BTS Sky train ride. Grand palace and reclining buddha are an easy subway ride. Ekkamai terminal is from the sky train again. The staff is very friendly day and very helpful with any questions and directions. I was on the 5th floor so minimal noise from the street. Will stay here again when I return to Bangkok
