Started walking from the Night Bazaar area and noticed the usual stuff, so figured i'd share a quick heads-up before heading out tonight.
Watch for overly friendly strangers who suddenly want to "show you a place" or invite u into a tuk-tuk, the classic switch to a pay bar or pricey gogo where lady drinks and bar fine pop up. Also, massage shops that overly advertise 'happy ending' or push private rooms right away are often freelancers in disguise or places that add surprise charges; take a quick look inside first, check the lighting, music, and how they handle the menu so u don't get stuck with a weird bill.
My simple trick: start at a busy spot, ask other foreigners what they paid, and if something feels rushed or like they're steering u upstairs fast, walk away. In Sweden this would cost 10x more and i'd still be careful, so trust ur gut, keep cash small bills, and if a taxi/tuk-tuk driver insists on a 'shortcut' to a different bar, tell them no thanks and go somewhere else, meh but works.
