Is Chiang Mai nightlife enough to make the trip?

Just got back from a night out in Chiang Mai and I'm wondering if it's really worth it for the nightlife alone. I mean, compared to Bangkok or Pattaya, it feels a lot more low-key and relaxed. Definitely more about having a drink at a bar or a good massage than high-energy party vibes.

So, for those who've been, do you think the nightlife here holds its own? Is it worth making a special trip just for the bars and massage shops, or should I focus on other parts of Thailand instead?

Chiang Mai's nightlife is indeed more laid-back compared to Bangkok, but I think it has its charm. I tried AA Massage last time and it was solid, a nice contrast to the craziness elsewhere. If you're in the mood for a chill atmosphere with some decent drinks and good service, it's worth a stop, but don't expect the same high-energy scene as in Pattaya.
