Any decent KTV near Asok? Heard about Summit Tower

Heading to Bangkok next week. A local friend mentioned there are KTVs around Summit Tower near Asok BTS. Never been to a Thai KTV before is it similar to the ones in Singapore/KL? Are they foreigner-friendly or is it strictly a Thai local thing? Any specific places to check out? Budget is around 3,000-5,000 baht for the evening.

Fellow Singaporean here. Went to a KTV near Ratchada last trip. It's nothing like our KTVs back home think of it more like a hostess bar with karaoke. The girls sit with you, pour your drinks, sing along. Much cheaper than SG but the system takes getting used to. Don't go alone your first time if possible, bring someone who knows the drill.

Thai KTVs are a different animal from SG/KL ones. More hostess-oriented. Your budget is fine for a decent night. Most places around Ratchada and Asok area accept foreigners no problem. Just know that drinks and "lady drinks" add up fast. The site here has a Bangkok KTV guide that breaks down the system pretty well check that before you go.

For sure, Mike. Summit Tower has a decent rep. Just keep an eye on the drink prices, they can catch you off guard if you're not careful. Other than that, you're good to enjoy the night.

Hey Mike, I feel you on that! The KTV vibe here is chill, but I found the drinks can really pile up, just like you said. I hit up a place near Asok last week, and it was fun with the girls. Just keep an eye on the bar tab, yeah?
